Porcelain
Is the serene beauty the East offers the world;
It condenses the soul of fire and earth,
Hiding the warmth of millennia within a single glaze.

Design
Is a bridge of inspiration across language and time;
Between aesthetics and craftsmanship,
It conveys the tension of thought and culture.

When the design team from Tianjin
encounters the millennia-old porcelain capital—Jingdezhen,
a dialogue across time and space
is about to begin.

We are about to set forth.
This is not merely a journey,
but a passage of the spirit.

We will step into the birthplace of porcelain,
delving deep into craft and thought,
using the brush as vessel, and clay as paper,
to sketch the cultural coordinates unique to the designer.

China Ceramics Museum
A Chronicle of Five Thousand Years of Ceramic Civilization

Here,
each silent exhibit
is a microcosm of Chinese aesthetics,
and a boundless reservoir of design inspiration.

From the earthenware of the Neolithic era
to the blue-and-white and doucai porcelains of the Ming and Qing dynasties,
the form and spirit of ceramics
unfold like a chronicle of Eastern design evolution,
awaiting our reinterpretation.

Master Liu Wenbin’s Workshop
Where Creativity Takes Shape in Porcelain

Stepping into the workshop,
the air is filled with the scent of clay and fire.

We will personally paint our own “Master’s Cup,”
guided by Master Liu Wenbin,
using overglaze, underglaze, and micro-carving techniques
to translate inspiration onto porcelain,
letting design flow between fingertips and vessel.

This is not only a classroom of craft,
but a space where the heart converses with artisanal spirit.

Jingdezhen Ceramic University
Lecture by Professor Wang Aihong: Eastern Expressions of Structure and Color

Ceramics are not only tradition,
but a contemporary language that can be deconstructed and reinterpreted.

At the Ceramic University,
we will listen to Professor Wang Aihong share her artistic research—
how to use color blocks, lines, and textures
to create a dialogue between “foreign” and “local” styles,
using porcelain as the medium to convey Chinese design thinking.

This exchange of ideas
will infuse our creations with richer and more diverse expressive possibilities.

Yaoli Ancient Town
Memories of Kiln Fires Amidst the Mountains and Forests

In Yaoli Ancient Town,
we stroll along the bluestone alleys, hearing the babble of streams and the scent of tea smoke.
This land, historically known as “Yaoli,”
once kindled the very first flames of Chinese ceramics.

Imperial Kiln Site
The Pinnacle of Craft in the Palace

At the Imperial Kiln Site,
the standards of royal porcelain still whisper among the bricks and tiles.
This is the apex of Chinese ceramic production,
and a symbol where art and imperial order coexist.

Amidst the mountains and waters,
we will rediscover the origins of porcelain
and touch its most radiant glory.

Taoxichuan Cultural & Creative District
A Creative Stroll in Light and Shadow

As night falls and lights begin to glow,
we step into the Taoxichuan Cultural & Creative District.

This is Jingdezhen’s most contemporary cultural landmark,
home to young artists, design studios, and artisan markets.
Here, traditional ceramic language is reinterpreted,
expressing a brand-new artistic posture amid the interplay of light and shadow.

It serves as a bridge between past and future,
a “nocturnal haven” for inspiration.

This is not merely a design journey,
but a cultural quest to trace roots and heritage.

We are not merely stepping into Jingdezhen;
we are stepping into the very source of design.
With vessels as our medium and beauty as our path,
we reconstruct, we dialogue, we create.
